Alright, here it is, the truth.
I’ve been making these leather key straps for a little while now but I never actually USED one myself until now, and I gotta admit: they really are handy. I was always fumbling & digging into my purse to find my keys but not anymore! I don’t like things dangling and clanking though, so I just tuck them into my bag after unlocking the door. But they STAY looped around my bag strap. So there ya have it. A testimonial from me about my own product. Inappropriate maybe, but true…🤷♀️

Leather Earrings, babyyy!
Lightweight & lovely, they measure approx 2-1/2″ overall.
Thanks for the pics, Susie Tunks. This was such a fun bag to make… I loved your idea of mounting the skeleton-key as a permanent part of the bag. You’re such a great designer!

☮️ Thanks Joe! It was fun using that special brand on the leather and making it into a journal (and your recipient sure sounded surprised & happy!). ☮️
I was asked to make my aprons longer & fuller and so that men could wear them too. Well here they are & they are certainly one-of-a-kind! Made from recycled denim jeans and mixed fabrics. Check them out (and other aprons too) on the “HANDCRAFTED: THIS & THAT” page at awlmadehere.com
Thanks! (remember, US shipping is free! 🙂 )
New sign! Destination (when things are ‘normal’ again) is The Painted Mermaid.
Since the backside of this sign will be visible too, I HAD to include St John on it- thats where Awl Made Here was born after all (St. John, U know I💕U).
Ordered to use as a leather “work belt” . . . still strong after heavy use, blood, sweat, & tears. THANKS A.S.! 🙂
Barn & Beach Designs (in Southport, NC) is OPEN for curbside pickup! Here’s a sampling of my leather-work available right now at the shop . . . just give them a call and pay by phone (910)363-4995. THANKS!
This poem was sent to me by my aunt. It was written in 1869 and reprinted during the 1919 Spanish Flu Pandemic.
And people stayed at home
And read books
And they rested
And did exercises
And made art and played
And learned new ways of being
And stopped and listened
Someone meditated, someone prayed
Someone met their shadow
And people began to think differently
And people healed.
And in the absence of people who
Lived in ignorant ways
Dangerous, meaningless and heartless,
The earth also began to heal
And when the danger ended and
People found themselves
They grieved for the dead
And made new choices
And dreamed of new visions
And created new ways of living
And completely healed the earth
Just as they were healed.

Thanks to Eric Zucker for ordering this custom backpack OVER 20 YEARS AGO! 😁
He sent it to me recently because one of the buckles had finally given out and some of the stitches had worn. No problemo! I fixed it up and sent it back. Cheers to Eric & cheers to Leather!
